Kolkata: Around 8.5% (1 out of 12) of the 1,360-odd bird species recorded in India were sighted at Rabindra Sarobar in 2023. The lake with the sprawling grounds in south Kolkata that has emerged as a hot spot for migratory birds attracted 117 species last year, many of them for the first time.
