RAIPUR: In a startling revelation, Chhattisgarh has experienced a disturbing decline in the number of tigers despite boasting the second-highest forest cover among Indian states, raising concerns among conservationists and wildlife enthusiasts while all other major states have reported a significant surge in their population.
While Chhattisgarh receives the highest amount under the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) scheme, the recently released tiger census 2022 figures by the Central government have raised concerns as it reveals a significant decline in the tiger population in Chhattisgarh.
