1st ever study on threat to mangroves from sea levels begins

This is the first such project in India. We are trying to ascertain if the mangroves across our coastline are able to build sediments equivalent to sea level rise or not. Currently, the global sea level rise due to climate change is 2mm to 3mm per year and therefore, the sediment accretion by these mangroves should also be 2mm to 3mm to counter the changes happening in the sea and its shores.
