Sewage treatment remains a problem. A recent RTI reply cites data for June from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), which shows that just four of the 37 plants meet the standards on fecal coliform and other pollutants such as BOD, TSS, phosphates and ammonia. A DPCC report, however, for the same month, showed pollution levels to be exponentially low.
