Tiger numbers rise in Bandipur, but shrinking forests worsen human wildlife conflict Min

Forest, ecology and environment minister Eshwar B Khandre said the tiger population in Bandipur has risen sharply—from just 12 in 1972 to over 153 today. However, the reduction in forest area has intensified human-wildlife conflict in the region.
