Chilika wildlife division establishes 21 camps to protect migratory birds

Berhampur: Chilika wildlife division has set up 21 temporary camps in the Chilika, the biggest waterfowl habitat in the country, to provide security to winged guests that swoop down on the lake in the winter. “The camps will run till March-end, when the migratory birds will start their homeward journey,” said Amlan Nayak, divisional forest officer, Chilika wildlife division.
