The minister added that improving the sparrow count without increasing the green cover of the state was impossible. "We are working on taking up the green cover of the state to 17% by 2028 that will go a long way in providing natural habitat to the little birds, leading to their population growth," said the minister, urging public to take up sparrow conservation measures across the state.
