New Delhi has advised people to avoid using overaged vehicles on public roads as a means to reduce air pollution. The capital has also banned diesel vehicles that are over 10-years-old. Can Pune do the same? By targeting the most polluting vehicles—often older diesel and petrol models—Low Emission Zones (LEZs) encourage the use of cleaner alternatives such as zero-emission vehicles and public transport.
